The Packaging ScorecardIn September 2006, as a part of the Clinton Global Initiative , Wal-Mart announced that it would introduce a 'Packaging Scorecard' which would help it to reduce the amount of packaging materials required and encourage suppliers to use packaging materials which were environment friendly. Wal-Mart announced its aim to reduce packaging materials requirements by 5 percent by 2013 and thereby save US$ 3.4 billion... The LaunchOn February 01, 2007, Wal-Mart started sharing the 'tools and processes' of the Packaging Scorecard with all its suppliers. The Scorecard enabled Wal-Mart's 60,000 suppliers to enter, store, and track data, learn and share the results for the next one year. The company gave its suppliers a year's time to comply with the requirements of the Packaging Scorecard...
